Abstract

Intraventricular thrombosis, especially after an extensive anterior acute myocardial infarction, is a condition that carries significant risks, primarily attributed to stroke and systemic embolism. Fortunately, thanks in part to advancements related to coronary angioplasty and dual antiplatelet therapy, its incidence has decreased in recent years. We describe a case of intraventricular thrombosis in an athletic patient, with an acute myocardial infarction of the anterior left ventricular wall, and no obstructive coronary arteries. The diagnostic suspicion is supported by Doppler echocardiography and confirmed with cardiac resonance imaging.
