Abstract

Introduction: Dextrocardia is the abnormal presence of the heart in the chest where its major axis is located on the right. Interatrial Communication (ASD) is a Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) in which there is a defect in the interatrial septum, generating a communication between the right and left atria. When it requires treatment, this consists on its definitive closure, which can be surgical or percutaneous. Currently, the trend is that the closure of ASD is performed by a minimally invasive approach. Method: Case report of percutaneous interatrial communication closure in a patient with dextrocardia. Conclusion: Percutaneous closure of interatrial communication is feasible and safe in selected individuals. This type of minimally invasive intervention allows a rapid recovery of the patient with a low rate of associated complications.
