Cardiac troponins in patients with acute chest pain. A Statement from the Ischemic Heart Disease Committee of the Argentine Federation of Cardiology
Keywords:
Troponin, Acute chest pain, Acute coronary syndromeAbstract
The use of cardiac troponin for identifying acute coronary syndrome in patients with chest pain has improved the standard of care, prompting more patients to be diagnosed. In this statement, authors reviewed the advances reached by using conventional troponin, high-sensitivity methods, and portable devices like point-of-care for acute coronary syndromes; but also in other conditions for which the measurement may have clinic significance. The recommendations are evidence-based and adjusted to different centers' complexity.
