Abstract

We present a case of an 88-year-old woman presenting dizziness and complete atrioventricular block in the 12-lead EKG. She has a personal history of glaucoma, using timolol eye drops, with the last application 2 hours before admission. During hospitalization, topical timolol was discontinued; 24 hours later we recorded a normal 12-lead EKG. We emphasize the importance of taking into account the adverse effects of this beta-blocker, even in its topical application, so often used in ophthalmology.
