Abstract

The quadricuspid aortic valve (QAV) is the least frequent congenital anomaly within the spectrum of anatomical variants of this valve. Insufficiency is usually the pathophysiological mechanism of presentation, requiring surgical resolution in most cases. We present a case of a 70-year-old female patient with QAV with valvular regurgitation on follow-up, who, due to an increase in the symptoms and progression of the disease, underwent a biological aortic valve replacement, solving the previous symptoms, with favorable evolution.
