Abstract

Massive hemoptysis (> 300ml in 24 hours) may be a life threatening condition and requires immediate intervention. Conservative treatment has a high mortality. Emergency surgery carries a mortality of 34%. Endovascular treatment offers a safe and effective alternative. We describe a case of endovascular treatment in a patient with massive hemoptysis originated in bronchial and systemic arteries.
