Toma de Posición de la Federación Argentina de Cardiología, Comité de Cardiología del Ejercicio sobre la actividad deportiva en la miocardiopatía hipertrófica

Históricamente, los individuos con miocardiopatía hipertrófica (MCH) han sido excluidos del ejercicio vigoroso y deportes competitivos por el riesgo de muerte súbita cardíaca (MSC) basados en estudios retrospectivos. Las ultimas evidencias han desafiado este paradigma y demuestran mejoras en la capacidad funcional, la calidad de vida, salud cardiovascular y psicológica incluyendo deportes competitivos en individuos de bajo riesgo. Para los que no cumplen con estos criterios, la evidencia es más limitada. No obstante, la participación en deportes competitivos aún puede considerarse de manera individual.
Un enfoque contemporáneo de la MCH debería basarse en la prescripción individualizada y orientada a objetivos de ejercicio, intervención multidisciplinaria y toma de decisiones compartida.
En esta revisión, evaluamos críticamente la evidencia sobre el ejercicio vigoroso y deportes competitivos y exploramos cómo los datos novedosos están remodelando la práctica clínica y las guías internacionales, sentando las bases para un nuevo paradigma en el campo.
