Resumen

El estrés psicológico es un determinante clínicamente relevante y modificable del riesgo cardiovascular. Esta Toma de Posición de la Federación Argentina de Cardiología (FAC) sintetiza la evidencia y establece recomendaciones operativas para la práctica en el contexto sanitario argentino.

La FAC sostiene que debe incorporarse el tamizaje sistemático del estrés en momentos claves del proceso cardiológico (debut de enfermedad, internación por evento y controles de seguimiento), mediante instrumentos validados y breves; que las intervenciones no farmacológicas con sustento empírico (psicoeducación, terapia cognitivo-conductual, manejo del estrés, mindfulness, actividad física) constituyen el pilar terapéutico; y que la derivación temprana a salud mental es esencial cuando la carga de síntomas compromete la adherencia, la seguridad o la calidad de vida.

Esta declaración orienta a profesionales, instituciones y autoridades para integrar Salud Mental y Cardiología, promover la equidad en el acceso y estimular investigación local sobre implementación y desenlaces.
