The research conducted by the Young Cardiologists Committee of the Argentine Cardiology Federation (FAC) seeks to describe and understand the reality among young cardiologists in the country. This study emphasizes the disparity when certifying the medical specialist degree, since there is a considerable proportion of specialists that obtain their degree from the Argentine Cardiology Federation (FAC) or local medical associations due to the lack of endorsement from universities in some medical residencies. As a result, the access to specialty residencies and fellowship programs is hindered. Furthermore, the absence of a system that recertifies the medical specialty together with the need of continuous training are areas of concern. However, most respondents continue their studies after their residencies. Moreover, there is an absence of scientific publications despite that there is a considerable proportion of respondents that have expressed interest in joining scientific associations. The Argentine Cardiology Federation (FAC) is taking care of some of these concerns offering scientific writing courses to encourage these initiatives and enhance the support to young cardiologists.
